Great guide by wootah from the ubuntuforums.org of how to get the wireless receiver for PC working under linux, using the Userspace Xbox/Xbox360 USB Gamepad Driver for Linux from grumbel. It works pretty much perfectly, I use it as a remote to control my laptop when it is displayed on my TV.

To install most media codecs check out:
www.dnmouse.org/codecs.html
To enable trackpad/mousepad “tap” on laptops:
synclient TapButton1=1
.RAR file support:
sudo yum -y install unrar
Add drive/partition to mount on start up:
www.dnmouse.org/mountdrive.html
Some useful apps:
su
yum -y install checkgmail
yum -y install nautilus-image-converter
yum -y install songbird

It’s pretty quick and works pretty well, I haven’t tried the analogue sticks and not sure if they work but still pretty nifty.
